Treatment Options at the DMZ-Medical Center

Dead Sea

A. Psoriasis, Vitiligo_, Atopic Dermatitis

 

Including:

                                                                                                                                                        

· Anamnesis and history of disease

· Medical examination by a senior physician

· Evaluation of the disease severity

· Calculation of the Body Mass Index and the Body Surface Area

· Assessment of the personal treatment schedule (sun and sea)

· All medications needed for the disease treated are included

· Scalp treatment as needed in the 1. treatment week included; afterwards 50 NIS per session of scalp treatment

· Follow-up visits as needed (usually twice a week)

· Nurse treatment as needed (in the clinic)

· Final medical examination and evaluation of results

· Final medical report

B 1.  Rheumatologic diseases

B 2.  Uveitis

 

Including:

                                                                                                                                                        

· Anamnesis and history of disease

· Medical examination by a senior physician

· Evaluation of the disease severity

· Assessment of the personal treatment schedule (sun and sea)

· All medications needed for the disease treated are included

· Follow-up visits as needed (usually twice a week)

· Nurse treatment as needed (in the clinic)

· Evaluation of the Blood Pressure

· Hand-Grip testing as needed

· Final medical examination and evaluation of results

· Final medical report

 

A typical personal treatment schedule for rheumatism should include: sun exposure, Dead Sea water bath (in or outdoor), sulfur bath, self application of black mud, envelopment of warmed black mud, ice-pack, medical massage and utilization of the hotel facilities (sauna, Jacuzzi, fitness room). Special medications are not included.

 

For Uveitis patients, the program combines the classic Dead Sea treatment only and one medical consultation by a senior ophthalmologist - without Spa procedures.

C. Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis

 

This option combines the two options A and B, and is recommended for patients suffering from both ailments simultaneously.

D. Asthma

Including:

· Anamnesis and history of diseases

· Medical examination by a senior physician

· Evaluation of the disease severity

· Evaluation of the blood pressure

· Spirometry and interpretation

· Pulse Oximetry (blood oxygen)

· Assessment of the personal treatment schedule (sun and sea)

· All medications needed for treatment of the disease are included

· Follow up visit as needed (usually twice a week)

· Nurse treatment as needed (in the clinic)

· Peak flow monitoring

· Final medical examination and evaluation of results

· Final medical report

 

The personal treatment schedule should also include; trial of different products and use of the hotel facilities (sauna, jacuzzi, fitness room and sport). Special medications are not included. Cost of emergency treatment outside normal clinic hours is not included. A summary of the medical status of each patient suffering from asthma is requested prior to arrival in order to confirm treatment.

E.1 Full Medical Check-Up

Including:

 

· Anamnesis and history of diseases

· Medical examination by a senior physician

· Calculation of the Body Mass Index and the Body Surface area

· Hand Grip testing as needed

· Evaluation of the blood pressure

· Blood Sugar test

· Urine Analysis

· Electrocardiogram and interpretation

· Spirometry and interpretation

· Pulse Oximetry (oxygen in blood)

· Recommendations for a personal treatment schedule

E.2 Medical Consultation
Including:

 

· Anamnesis and history of diseases

· Medical examination by a senior physician

· Calculation of the Body Mass Index and the Body Surface area

· Evaluation of the blood pressure

· Recommendations for a personal treatment schedule

F. Spa Treatment and Full Medical Check-up

Including:

 

· Anamnesis and history of diseases

· Medical examination by a senior physician

· Calculation of the Body Mass Index and the Body Surface area

· Evaluation of the blood pressure

· Blood sugar test

· Urine analysis

· Electrocardiogram and interpretation

· Spirometry and interpretation

· Pulse Oximetry (oxygen in blood)

· Assessment of the personal schedule (sun, sea and procedures)

· Up to 5 spa treatments
