Tour no. 1 Jerusalem of Gold (Old and new)
On this tour you will see the most exciting sights of Jerusalem: the Mount of Olives, the Old City, Jaffa Gate and the Jewish Quarter, the Cardo, the Western Wall, the Via Dolorosa and Yad Vashem.
Drive to the Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of the city. Enter the Old City through Jaffa Gate and walk through the Jewish Quarter to the recently excavated and restored Cardo, the Roman road. See the Jewish Wailing Wall – the Kotel – and continue to the Christian Quarter. Walk along the Via Dolorosa ad visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Proceed to the New City to visit Yad Vashem, the Memorial to the Holocaust victims.
On
Fridays, Saturdays and Jewish holidays, instead of Yad
Vashem the tour will take you to visit the tomb of
King David, the room of the Last Supper and the Dormition
Abbey.

you will learn about Massada and the heroic story of the fighters and you will

Depart Tel Aviv via the Judean hills to the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth. Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Massada. Ascend by cable car and tour the mountain fortress built by King Herod, where the Zealots of the first century made their last stand against the Romans. Visit the remains of the walls, palaces, synagogue, water cisterns, mosaic floors, roman baths and other findings. Descend by cable car. Travel along the sea and enjoy some free time to swim and float on the Dead Sea.

Depart Tel
Aviv, Jerusalem or Dead Sea for a brief stop at Ein
Gedi, a vast oasis teeming with wildlife, lush
vegetation and plenty of water. Due to these unique desert condition, the area
has been inhabited since the dawn of time. Ein Gedi was once famous for its persimmon plantations, which
provided the fruit for a luxurious perfume.
The tour begins with the
following route:

Nahal Hemar (a stream featuring a cave with archeological finds
from Neolithic times).
·
Nahal Sdom (a stream).
·
Mount Sodom observation point (including the biblical story of
Sodom and Gomorrah). Mount Sodom is a salt plug that rose from the Dead Sea
during an ancient geological era. A variety of formations and salt caves have
been formed, meandering over a course of several kilometers. An incredible
observation point at the top of mountain overlooks the Dead Sea and Moab
mountains.
Stop for rest and refreshments. Continue to
the following sites:

Ein Yerakam ( a desert spring, camel trail from Nabatean era).

Makhtesh Katan (the small Crater, unique geological erosional landform).

Makhtesh Gadol (the large Crater, including the multicolored sands

After breakfast , your
tour will begin at Ovdat, an ancient Nabatean city on the ancient incense route, and a UNESCO
World Heritage Site. Continue to the observation point at Ramon Crater, which
approximately 40km in length, 9km wide and the largest crater in the Negev,
which is also known as the world’s largest “geological museum’, due to the
unique conditions under which it was formed. At the bottom of the Crater, there
are numerous geological and historical sites.
The tour will continue to
visit the following sites:

Nahal Ramon (one or
two streams that drain the spectacular Makhtesh
Ramon).
·
Mt. Gvanim (fossils) and Nahal Gvanim (a stream).
·
Ein Saharonim (a city spring found in Ramon Crater, with lush

Nahal Ardon (a stream with rare volcanic intrusions).

2 Day Tour Depart
from Eilat
St. Catherine & Mt. Sinai tour

Day one – Crossing the Taba border we board our jeeps and begin our journey to the
heart of the picturesque Sinai desert. We pass the ancient cruisader
fortress of Coral Island just off the Sinai coast. Continuing along the coastal
road we reach the Bedouin Village of Nuweiba. Here
you can either enjoy a short stroll through the Arabian bazarre
or take in the splendid Red Sea views from one its many tranquil beaches.
Before beginning reaching the sandstone area we stop at an observation point
overlooking one of the largest Wadis in the Sinai,
‘The Wadi of the Gazzelles’ famous for its vast
stretches of gold and yellow sands and unusual rock formations. Back en route we stop once more to visit the
‘Rock of Inscriptions’. The historical inscriptions on this rock were carved by
some of the very earliest pilgrims who dared to cross this stark desert to
visit the monastery of St. Catherine and Mt. Sinai. From here we head straight
to the towering red granite mountains of the high range where both St. Catherines monastery and Mt. Sinai are found. We enjoy our
evening meal and settle for the night at a 4* hotel.
Day two – Early morning we walk to the
sacred and revered Mt. Sinai, we begin our ascent walking in the footsteps of
ancient pilgrims who tread this route centuries earlier. We reach the summit
just before dawn and here we witness its incredible sunrise and splendid views.
Descending
the mountain we return to the hotel for breakfast. We spend the late morning
touring the monastery of St. Catherine, taking in its fascinating and unique
sights and exceptional history.
Lunchtime sees us back at the hotel for a filling and refreshing buffet
lunch.
Leaving
the high range behind us we stop along the way at a Bedouin tent to see how
these people live and have lived over thousands of years. Heading east again to
the sea and, time allowing, a stop at one of the beaches to enjoy a refreshing
dip in the tourquise waters. Onto the Taba
border and back to Eilat by evening.
