Pick up from your hotel at 07:30, arriving at the Arava border crossing we will enter the Kingdom of Jordan, from here a 2 hours drive takes us to the ‘Lost City of Petra’ An absolute must for all visitors to the region. Having walked for 30 minutes through the imposing Canyon (Wadi Siq) at its entrance, that awesome and monumental moment when you first step foot in Petra is upon you. Counted amongst the wonders of the ancient world. Petra is an archeological, anthropological and geological phenomenon. Your private guide will explain the history, legends, myths and truths of this astonishing city carved 2,000 years ago from the Red sandstone Mountains. We will enjoy a buffet lunch in Petra, followed by an afternoon visit to Wadi Musa ( a small village nearby), and city tour of Aqaba. Following this, we will commence our return journey to Arava border arriving in the evening in Eilat.

This full day tour explores the changing faces of the desert as it passes from morning to dusk. An exciting 4x4 drive in the picturesque desert around Eilat.

The tour includes an unforgettable walk into the canyon of the Lost Valley and a visit to pools popular with migrating flamingos. Than to the ancient copper mines of Timna. Steeped in history and set in the picturesque Timna Valley these mines contain important archaeological sites and picturesque geological formations, making it a popular attraction with visitors to the area.

We take a break to enjoy desert style hospitality and lunch, sitting around a campfire on which the pita bread is made we drink tea or coffee and hear stories of the desert both true and legendary.

Route: Arava Valley, Flamingo pools, Doum Palms, Evrona Spring, the area of the Statue Valley, Tzfonot and the Lost Valley and the Timna Valley.

Two Days tours

St. Catherine & Mt. Sinai tour

Day one – Crossing the Taba border we board our jeeps and begin our journey to the heart of the picturesque Sinai desert. We pass the ancient cruisader fortress of Coral Island just off the Sinai coast. Continuing along the coastal road we reach the Bedouin Village of Nuweiba. Here you can either enjoy a short stroll through the Arabian bazarre or take in the splendid Red Sea views from one its many tranquil beaches. Before beginning reaching the sandstone area we stop at an observation point overlooking one of the largest Wadis in the Sinai, ‘The Wadi of the Gazzelles’ famous for its vast stretches of gold and yellow sands and unusual rock formations. Back en route we stop once more to visit the ‘Rock of Inscriptions’. The historical inscriptions on this rock were carved by some of the very earliest pilgrims who dared to cross this stark desert to visit the monastery of St. Catherine and Mt. Sinai. From here we head straight to the towering red granite mountains of the high range where both St. Catherines monastery and Mt. Sinai are found. We enjoy our evening meal and settle for the night at a 4* hotel.

Day two – Early morning we walk to the sacred and revered Mt. Sinai, we begin our ascent walking in the footsteps of ancient pilgrims who tread this route centuries earlier. We reach the summit just before dawn and here we witness its incredible sunrise and splendid views.

Descending the mountain we return to the hotel for breakfast. We spend the late morning touring the monastery of St. Catherine, taking in its fascinating and unique sights and exceptional history. Lunchtime sees us back at the hotel for a filling and refreshing buffet lunch.

Leaving the high range behind us we stop along the way at a Bedouin tent to see how these people live and have lived over thousands of years. Heading east again to the sea and, time allowing, a stop at one of the beaches to enjoy a refreshing dip in the tourquise waters. Onto the Taba border and back to Eilat by evening.
